A novel aluminophosphate hexamethyleneimine (organo) clay was syn- thesized and characterized by various physicochemical techniques. X-ray differaction shows that it is a short range ordered lamellar type organoclay. SEM shows the phase purity of the synthesized samples. TG/DTA shows the presence of charge balanced ionic template molecules. Framework FT-IR shows the vibrations are similar to other aluminophosphate molecular sieves. Presence of tetrahedral phosphorous and tetrahedral and octahedral aluminium were found by 27A1 and 31P MAS NMR techniques.

The nutritional valuable mineral contents in two varieties (yellow and white) of maize from eight different locations in Ilorin were determined by the use of atomic absorption spectrometer. The two varieties of the maize have: the same mean moisture and ash contents of 11.0% and 1.6% respectively. The mean mineral contents of calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, manganese, iron, copper, zinc and phosphorus were 2.0, 120.0, 510.0, 520.0, 0.16, 2.0, 0.38, 5.0 and 280.0 mg/100g for white maize respectively. Those for yellow maize were 2.3, 100.0, 500.0, 260.0, 0.2, 3.4, 0.4, 2.9 and 300.0 mg/100g of sample. The results showed that mineral content of maize is slightly independent of variety however partially dependent on the location where it is grown.
Electromagnetic wave propagation over epoxy dielectric sheet has been proposed. Electromagnetic wave propagates over the epoxy dielectric sheet and equation for its velocity has been derived. The velocity v of electromagnetic wave in polymer is given by above proposed equation has been used for epoxy dielectric. It has been found that on increasing the frequency wave velocity of electromagnetic wave increases.
Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of arginine by Cr (VI) has been studied. The main product of oxidation is g-guanidino butanaldehyde. The reaction is first order to arginine and first order with respect to Cr (VI) respectively. The reaction is acid catalysed. The dielectric constant of the medium on the rate have no effect. The activation energy is computed with respect to slow step of the mechanism.
All air stable organoruthenium(II) complexes having general formula [RuH(L1)(Pf3)n(LH)n1 Cl] (Where L1 =CO/CS, n=1&2 & n1=1&2) with
1-metatolyl tetrazoline-5-thione (1-mt T-5-TH) and 1-benzoyl tetrazoline-5-thione (1-BT-5-TH) have been prepared and characterized by various physico-chemical methods. These complexes are found to be diamagnetic in nature and non-electrolytic behavior in DMF solutions. Tentative octahedral configuration has been assigned to all Ru(II) complexes on the basis of normal co-ordinate analysis.
Hydration of salt hydrates such as CuSO4.5H2O, BaCl2.2H2O The de, CaSO4.2H2O were studied using microwave oven. It has been found that BaCl2.2H2O and CaSO4.2H2O are completely dehydrated on heating for 45 minutes and 105 minutes respectively. However, CuSO4.5H2O is partially dehydrated to CuSO4. H2O for 30 minutes.
Some novel N, N’- 1, 4 (phenyl / chloro / bromo / nitro / methyl) substituted phenoxy acetyl piperazine were synthesized and screened for anti microbial and anthelmintic activities.
Molecular interactions in terms of viscosity B-coefficient of 2-[3'-(2"-hydroxy aryl) pyrazol-5'-yl]-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole [HAPMT] and
Methyl-1-carboxamido-3-(2'-hydroxy-5'-methyl phenyl) pyrazole-5-carboxylate. [MCHMPPC] in 70% acetone-water, dioxane-water and ethanol-water mixture at different concentration have been measured at 303.8oK.
Forty six(46) ground water samples collected from Mehgao block (Bhind District) were analyzed for Boron, Copper, Manganese and, Iron. Average for Boron, Copper, Manganese and, Iron were found to be 0.006,0.064,0.015,0.26 mg/L respectively.
