The metal ligand stability constants of carboxy methyl mercapto succinic acid with VO(II),UO2 (II) metals ions have been determined in 40 %(v/v) methanol –water and 40%(v/v) dioxane- water mixtures at ionic strength μ= 0.1M(KNO3) at three different temperature (25°,35° and 45°C) employing Bjerrum-Calvin pH titration technique. The stability of complexes follows the order. VO(II)> UO2 (II)
The free energy, enthalpy and entropy changes involved inthe complexation have also been evaluated at 35°C in 40% (v/v) methanol – water and 40%(v/v) dioxane- water mixtures .

The large scale industrialization apart from its benefits to the masses has also generated a large number of toxic substances in the form of effluent. These effluents contaminate Groundwater, which is the only resource for drinking and other purposes. In the present Paper attempt is made to understand the impact of various industries on ground water Quality of village Comrawli (Jagdishpur), district Sultanpur, U.P. Study was undertaken to evaluate physic-chemical parameters like pH, total hardness, total alkalinity, chloride, fluoride, zinc, copper, lead and iron. The results revealed that only chloride, fluoride lead and iron are present in slight high concentration than permissible limits and not fit for human consumption without treatment.

In a previous article we deal with the QSAR model of water soluble sulfonamides towards carbonic anhydrase(CA-II) isoenzyme. In this paper we discuss the QSAR model of same drugs using molecular redundancy as a molecular descriptor towards carbonic anhydrase – IV(CA-IV)isozyme. The regression analysis has shown that out of the
pool of topological indices used, the Molecular Redundancy Index (MRI) is the best one for modeling CA inhibitory properties against the CA-IV isozyme. The results are critically discussed on the basis of statistical parameters

Micellar effect upon nucleophilic substitution reactions between hydroxide anions [OH-] and mono-4-chloro-3-methyl phenyl phosphate ester (mono-4-CMPP) in presence cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTABr) has been examined in buffered medium (at pH 8.0 to 10). The first order rate consant (Kψ) are increased with the concentration of the surfactant can be analyzed in terms of Br- ions in micellar pseudophases, which occur readily by aqueous CTABr and calculated second order rate constants.

Various acoustic parameters like isentropic compressibility (s), intermolecular free length (Lf),apparent molar volume (), apparent molar compressibility (k), molar compressibility (w), molar sound velocity (R), acoustic impedance (z) of Co(NO3)2 in 10%,20%,30% and Ethanol+water at 303.15 K have been determined from ultrasonic velocity (V), density () and relative viscosity (r) of the solution. These parameters are related with the molar concentration of the solution and reflects the distortion of the structure of the solvent (i.e, Ethanol + water) when the solute is added to it.

This work investigates that the concentration of the pollutants sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and total suspended particulate (TSP) generated from various sources like automobiles, industries over the ambient air quality of the Bhopal. As such Bhopal is a big city and it is not possible to measure the concentration of these major pollutants in all areas, so we have restricted our study at 3 sites only. The major pollutants as suggested by the Central pollution control board (CPCB) in an industrial area are sulphur dioxide, oxides of nitrogen (NOX) and total suspended particulate (TSP). The rate of emission and concentration of these gases in the ambient air is studied by the following laboratory methods – (a) Modified West and Gaeke method for determination of sulphur dioxide in ambient air, (b) Modified Jacob and Hochheiser method for determination of nitrogen oxides in ambient air, and (c) High volume method for determination of TSP in the ambient air. The results will show the concentration of emissions of the above cited gaseous and suspended solid pollutants and will be compared with the permissible concentrations as per the standards given by CPCB for an industrial area and major precautions can be taken to reduce the concentration level of these pollutants.

Some organoiridium(1) complexes with Para Substituted phenyl derivatives of 1- Substituted tetrazoline-5-thione have been prepared and characterized using elemental analysis, IR, Uv-vis. ‘HMR and other physico-chemical data. All complexes are Square Pyramidal and the basal position is occupied by bulky P3, 3SnCl and tetrazole ligands considering steric preferences. The antifungal activity of organoiridium (1) complexes against A. niger, A. Flavus and C. Albicans and antimicrobial activity against E. coli, S. enteritidis, S. aurens and S. epidermitis are examined.

The kinetics of multi-site phase-transfer catalyzed free radical polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) using potassium peroxy disulphate (PDS) as water soluble initiator and newly synthesized1,4- dihexadecylpyrazine-1,4-diium dibromide as multi-site phase-transfer catalyst (MPTC) has been investigated in ethyl acetate / water two phase system at constant temperature 50 ± 1°C under nitrogen atmosphere and ultrasound irradiation conditions. The rate of polymerization increases with an increase in concentrations of MMA, PDS and MPTC. The order with respect to monomer, initiator and MPTC were found to be 1.0, 0.5 and 0.5 respectively. Based on the observed results a suitable mechanism has been proposed to account for the experimental observations and its significance was discussed.

Several new sterically hindered cationic complexes of tricyclohexylbismuth (V) carboxylates, amides and oximes have been synthesized by the reaction of substituted carboxylic acids, substituted amides and ketoximes with tricyclohexylbismuth dichloride, which in turn was obtained from cyclohexylbromide magnesium and bismuth trichloride. New compounds were characterized by melting point, elemental analysis and infrared spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activity of these compounds are under study.
